Pinons can be purchased raw, roasted w/o salt, or roasted with salt. Old Mexico Pinons - Similar to Pinon nuts from the Southwest, but have a harder shell. Pine nuts - These nuts come mostly from the states of Nevada and Utah. Pecans - The origin of these pecans are from the country of Mexico. These pecans can be purchased in the shell, or shelled in halves or pieces.
